Iron Oxide Black Color 999S is a highly micronized nano particles of synthetic inorganic iron oxide pigment produced from latest technologies to strict quality tolerances.

The black oxide is used as a black pigment and it is also known as Mars Black.

In Haber process and the water-gas shift reaction, Iron oxide black is used as a catalyst.

The latter uses an high temperature shift catalyst of iron oxide stabilized by chromium oxide.

The Nano particles of the Iron oxide black are used as a contrasting agent in MRI scanning.

It is also used as an ingredient along with sulfur and aluminum, in specific type of thermite useful for steel cutting.

To protect the surface of the steel from rust a layer of Iron oxide is used through a passivation process known as Bluing.
