synthetic black iron oxide is a synthetic form of black iron oxide. that runs <1 micron in size compared the natural black iron oxide that we sell that runs 30-45 microns in size. It is ideal for pigments and other uses where a very small particle size is desired. Also, it is a truer black since it has fewer impurities (clay, silica, etc.).
